The Danish Pesticide Leaching Assessment Programme (PLAP) is a monitoring programme, which has two main objectives:
- To investigate whether approved pesticides or their degradation products leach into groundwater at concentrations exceeding the limit value.
- To enhance the scientific basis for optimizing government approval and regulatory procedures for pesticides.
The PLAP is headed by the Geological Survey of Denmark and Greenland (GEUS) in close cooperation with the Department of Agroecology (AGRO) at Aarhus University, as subsupplier, the Department of Bioscience (BIOS) at Aarhus University and the Danish Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
